These pizzas, which we have read about, are very native to Italy, and there are many other variations in Italy itself. There is a famous type called Neapolitan pizza or pizza napoletana which is made in a very authentic style. Authentic Neapolitan pizzas are made with local ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, which are grown on the volcanic plains on the south of Mount Vesuvius. It uses only Mozzarella di Bufala Campana which is made with the milk from water buffalo which is raised in the marshlands of Campania. Pizza is surely a wonderful food and that is the only reason it is liked and consumed all over the world.
